Abstract

Se pretende una somera reflexión sobre las exequias de María Luisa de Orleans celebradas en la ciudad de Palermo por iniciativa del Duque de Uceda a partir de la Relación escrita por D. Francisco Montalbo que forma parte de los fondos de la Biblioteca Histórica Marqués de Valdecilla de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. [ABSTRACT]This article studies the parchment bindings with artistic elements that belonged to Francisco Guerra’s collection. The constructive structures, materials used, decorative structures of the sides and the spines, the painted endpaper and the heraldic emblems of several bindings studying their origins it’s also analyzed, identifiying, in some cases, the bookbinder as happens with the works of Brugalla, Vera, Menard and Arias y Ginesta. We finally do an inventory of tailpieces, gilding rolls and plates used in each binding.
