Abstract

The successions of fossils and the strata that contain them can be regarded as dissociable. In interpreting taphonomic relationships we avoid the problem of describing biological evolution regarding a scale that is itself based on an interpretation of biological evolution. It is proposed that the new categories of paieontoiogicai classification established in this paper should be termed registratic units. [RESUMEN] Las sucesivas entidades registradas y los estratos que las contienen pueden ser consideradas como disociables entre si. Interpretando las relaciones tafonomicas evitamos el problema de describir la evolucion biologica respecto a una escala que en si misma esta basada en una interpretacion de la evolucion biologica. Se propone que las nuevas categorias de clasificacion paleontologica establecidas en este articulo deben ser llamadas unidades registraticas.
