Abstract
La Revolución Francesa dio pie a la famosa controversia entre los radicales británicos y Edmund Burke. Entre estos escritores se encontraba William Godwin, objetivo de este artículo. En tanto que crítico de la sociedad liberal, Godwin analizó el proceso de construcción del gobierno representativo y trató de diseñar una nueva sociedad basada en el individualismo y el anarquismo no violento. Es conocido como el padre del anarquismo filosófico. Ejerció una fuerte influencia en el romanticismo inglés y en el anarquismo pacifista europeo. [ABSTRACT]French Revolution caused the famous controversy betwen British radicals and Edmund Burke. One of these writers was William Godwin, objective of this article. As a critic of liberal society, he analysed the process of construction of the representative government and he tryed to design a new society founded on individualism and non-violent anarchism. William Godwin is known as the father of philosohical anarchism. He had a strong influence on English romanticism and on pacifist European anarchism.
