Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the principal characteristics, advantages and limitations of the new development approach of business decision making aid tools, based on Artificial Intelligence technology, and its main development tools: Expert Systems. For this purpose, in the first section a conceptual introduction is done of the nature and fundamental charaderistics of the kind of decision activity involved in the management process at business organizations. In the followling one, some of the basic ideas developed in the Artificial Intelligence and Problem Solving's disciplines, suitable to the understanding of this work are presented. Finally, in the third section, we will try to do a short analysis of the implications and implementing posibilities of these new ideas in the field of management decision processes.
