Abstract

The multiple scattering of classical electromagnetic waves byN fixed dielectric obstacles is studied by using a new Green’s function introduced in a previous paper. The use of the new Green’s function leads us to show that the kernels of the basic integral equations describing the multiple scattering are Heilbert-Schmidt ones. A rigorous solution of the multiple-scattering equations is presented through Fredholm series, which converge for any shape, separation, dielectric permeability and conductivity of the defects.

Si studia lo scattering multiplo di onde elettromagnetiche classiche suN ostacoli dielettrici fissati, usando una nuova funzione di Green presentata in un precedente lavoro. L’uso di la nuova funzione di Green porta a mostrare che il nocciolo delle equazioni integrali fondamentali che descrivono lo scattering multiplo sono di Hilbert-Schmidt. Si presenta una soluzione rigorosa delle equazioni per lo scattering multiplo mediante serie di Fredholm, che convergono per qualsiasi forma, separazione, permeabilità dielettrica e conduttività delle imperfezioni.
