Abstract
This work deals with some basic topics in Planetary Sciences, shaped as a list of questions: Which are the variables determining the final structure of a planetary system? Which are the basic differences, and similarities, between planets and stars? What do we know on the energy sources of a planet? Which lessons are to be learnt from the climatic and thermal stories of terrestrial planets? Which processes frame the planetary landscapes? And lastly, which is the role of life in a planetary context?
