Abstract
En 2015 y 2016, la Unión Europea y el Mediterráneo han sido una vez más protagonistas de naufragios y llegadas por mar de miles de personas provenientes de otros países y continentes que, en los muchos casos, huían de situaciones de guerra y violencia. Muchas de estas personas han utilizado la ruta del Mediterráneo Occidental, cruzando la frontera hispano-marroquí para llegar a la ciudad de Melilla. Una vez en España, la mayoría desean continuar su viaje hacia otros países europeos por distintos motivos. En Madrid, aproximadamente tres mil refugiados fueron atendidos por la Red Solidaria de Acogida (RSA) el último cuatrimestre de 2015. La RSA es un colectivo ciudadano nacido en septiembre 2015 con el objetivo de apoyar el tránsito de estas personas y denunciar la falta de acompañamiento de las instituciones a esta realidad. Este artículo analiza los fallos principales del sistema de asilo desde la perspectiva y preocupaciones de los propios refugiados.
In 2015 and 2016 the European Union and the Mediterranean have been once again witmessed shipwrecks and sea arrivals of thousands of people from other countries and continents, in many cases, fleeing situations of war and violence. Many of these people have used the route of the Western Mediterranean, crossing the Spanish-Moroccan border to the city of Melilla. Once in Spain, most of themwish to continue their journey to other European countries for different reasons. In Madrid, about three thousand refugees were assisted by the Red Solidaria de Acogida (RSA) the last quarter of 2015. The RSA is a citizen's imnitiative born in September 2015 in order to support the journey of these people and denounce the lack of support from institutions to this reality. This article analyzes the major flaws of the asylum system from the perspective and concerns of the refugees themselves.
