Abstract
Nowadays, strokes are one of the main death reasons among men and women. A Stroke has two main causes: ischaemic stroke by blockage of blood vessel and hemorrhagic stroke by break of blood vessels. In this Master’s thesis some recognized technics from current artificial intelligence areas like machine learning have been used to perform predictions over patients that have suffered a stroke and be able to take precocious decisions thanks to predictive models. Patients’ data has been obtained from Stroke Unit of Hospital Universitario ‘La Princesa’ where patients are monitored from entering the hospital until they are discharged or they have passed away. Predict different complications or characteristics are some of the goals of this work by processing monitored data from the patients as temporal series. Some of the proposed predictions to be carried out are predict if the patient is going to have a rebleeding, predict the sort of stroke suffered and predict if the patient is going to survive the stroke. Furthermore, finding the best classifiers from supervised learning for these kind of predictions is another relevant goal. Each prediction may be different and each algorithm will be analyzed and studied in means of computing power and precision in order to see how well fits to the prediction problem.
