Abstract
El objetivo principal de esta tesis doctoral es ofrecer un análisis y una interpretación de los componentes más importantes de la posición filosófica de Kuhn. El marco de referencia elegido para abordar el análisis de esos elementos ha sido su tesis de la inconmensurabilidad, cuyo esclarecimiento representó una de las preocupaciones centrales del autor durante gran parte de su trayectoria intelectual. Esta elección metodológica añadió un segundo objetivo a esta tesis doctoral, a saber, elucidar la noción de inconmensurabilidad. Los aspectos centrales del pensamiento de Kuhn han sido tradicionalmente acusados de implicar posiciones de tipo relativista, idealista o antirrealista. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas, diferentes autores han señalado que algunos de esos aspectos no conllevan necesariamente posiciones de este tipo y que son incluso compatibles con el realismo científico. Esta tesis doctoral se enmarca en esta línea interpretativa, por lo que se ha tratado de ofrecer una interpretación de los componentes fundamentales del pensamiento de Kuhn conciliable con dicha posición filosófica...
The central aim of the present PhD thesis is to develop a philosophical interpretation of the core elements of Kuhn’s work. In order to perform an analysis of such elements, his incommensurability thesis will act as a reference frame, since it was one of the central lines of thought for most of his intellectual career. With this methodological choice comes a second aim for the present PhD dissertation: to explain the meaning of incommensurability.The key tenets in Kuhn’s school of thought have traditionally been criticised for implying relativist, idealist and antirealist theses. However, a range of authors have recently pointed out that Kuhn’s views do not necessarily imply such positions, and that they are even compatible with scientific realism.
