Abstract
Insects are one of the most important groups of animals in terms of abundance of individuals and number of species in all terrestrial ecosystems, and Hymenoptera (bees, wasps and ants) are one of the most diverse orders of insects. The order is very heterogeneous in its ecological and behavioral traits, including herbivorous and carnivorous species, solitary and social species, parasitic or free-living species, and including species with larvae reared in nests, in galls or in hosts of various types. This makes the Hymenoptera an ideal group for studies on morphological and physiological adaptations and phenotypic evolution. In this thesis, I intend to verify the possible links between the diversity of features related to the life-history strategy and ecological specialization and some morpho-physiological aspects in different lineages of Hymenoptera...
