Abstract
Si nos atenemos a la división de la realidad que realiza Aristóteles en sus Categorías, la relación es lo que menos entidad tiene, y así lo afirma explícitamente en su Metafísica. La persona, por su parte, es la realidad metafísica que más entidad tiene.Desde San Agustín a nuestros días, los pensadores cristianos ponen estas dos realidades en Dios, pues conciben las Personas divinas como relaciones subsistentes. Siendo los hombres —criaturas personales—«imagen y semejanza» suya, como dice la Biblia, es lógico pensar que la «relación» debe desempeñar un papel muy importante en la descripción y constitución de la persona.En Filosofía las diversas escuelas se van sucediendo, pero, si todas estudian la misma realidad, sus resultados no deberían ser contradictorios: solo variará el enfoque y los métodos empleados. La fenomenología de corte realista ha desarrollado un método filosófico distinto al de la línea aristotélico-tomista, que permite estudiar a la persona desde un punto de vista diverso del habitual, más moderno. If we accept the division of the world that Aristotle explains in his Categories, the relation is the reality that has the least entity, and he states so explicitly in his Metaphysics. The person, on the other hand, is the metaphysical reality that has the most entity. From Saint Augustine to our days, Christian thinkers put these two realities in God, because they conceive the divine Persons as subsisting relations. Now being men -personal creatures- his "image and likeness," as the Bible says, it is logical to think that the "relation" must play a very important role in the description and constitution of the person. In Philosophy different schools follow one another, but, if they all study the same reality, their results should not be contradictory: only the approach and the methods used will vary. Realist phenomenology has developed a philosophical method different from that of the Aristotelian-Thomist line, which allows to study the person from a different, more modern point of view.
