Abstract
Se presentan los rasgos geológicos más importantes de la comarca de Puertollano y de los sectores central y oriental del anticlinal de Alcudia por su transcendencia suprarregional, enfatizando las aportaciones recientes más destacadas. Se trata de una región de un especial interés geológico porque además de tener magníficas exposiciones de los rasgos más habituales de la Zona Centroibérica Meridional, presenta caracteres exclusivos, geológicos y mineros, como el carbonífero superior productivo del sinclinal de Puertollano, la minería metálica del Valle de Alcudia y de la mina Diógenes, el volcanismo fini-terciario de Campo de Calatrava y una serie de rasgos geomorfológicos muy particulares.
The more important geologic characteristics of the region of Puertollano and the central and eastern sectors of Alcudia anticline are here reviewed for their superregional importance, emphasizing the recent more outstanding contributions. It is a special geologic interest area because besides to have magnificent exhibitions of the most habitual characteristics of the Southern Central Iberian Zone, exclusive geologic and mining characters can be found, like the productive Upper Carboniferous of the of Puertollano syncline, the metallic mining of Alcudia Valley and “Diogenes” mine, the late tertiary volcanism of the Calatrava shire and several interesting geomorphologic characteristics.
