Abstract
Con el objeto de poner fin a falsas identificaciones y confusiones de tres siglos, se analiza la galería de retratos que poseyó don Pedro de Granada Venegas Manrique, primer marqués de Campotejar, inventariada y tasada a su fallecimiento en 1643. Galería que es manifestación de perdurabilidad eterna de la reputación, fama, honor terrenal y de alcurnia, que perpetúa en la memoria de los hombres a miembros destacados de la estirpe Granada Venegas desde su origen y el renombre de cada uno de ellos. Una galería de retratos que en parte aún hoy existe, ubicada en Madrid en 1643 y poco después en el Generalife hasta su expatriación de territorio nacional en la segunda década del siglo XX. Se incluyen fotografías de los retratos.
In order to put an end to false identifications and confusions of three centuries, we analyze the gallery of portraits that owned Don Pedro de Granada Venegas Manrique, first Marquis of Campotejar, inventoried and appraised at his death in 1643. Gallery of portraits that is a manifestation of the eternal perdurability of reputation, fame, earthly honor and high status, which perpetuates in the memory of men outstanding members of the Granada Venegas lineage from its origin and the renown of each one of them. A gallery of portraits that still exists today, located in Madrid in 1643 and shortly after in the Generalife until its expatriation from national territory in the second decade of the 20th century. Photographs of the portraits are included.
