Abstract
Recordar las facultades del arte no es una cuestión exterior al ámbito universitario: de hecho, pensar si el arte tiene algún tipo de facultad no sería tan apremiante de no ser por su propia institucionalización. El tipo de recuerdo al que el título de esta tesis alude no consiste por tanto en restaurar sus facultades al arte – aunque por el camino éstas puedan aparecer –, sino en atender a las otras facultades de arte que pudieron suceder. Esta tesis doctoral relaciona la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Complutense con la ciudad de Madrid, leyendo su pasado fundacional en la Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando hasta momentos de crisis que va de 1967 a 1992.
Remembering the faculties of art is not a question outside the university: in fact, to think if art has some kind of faculty would not be so pressing if it were not for its own institutionalization. The type of memory that the title of this thesis alludes to does not therefore consist in restoring its faculties to the art - even though they may appear on the way - but in attending to the other art faculties that could happen. This doctoral thesis links the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universidad Complutense with the city of Madrid, reading its foundational past at the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando until moments of crisis from 1967 to 1992.
