Abstract
Esta tesis doctoral, titulada La derrota del guerrillero urbano en la novela latinoamericana: el retorno de la clandestinidad, examina una producción novelística que aborda la problemática del guerrillero derrotado latinoamericano, una figura obligada por las circunstancias a adaptarse a una realidad social hecha a medida de los vencedores. El corpus de trabajo de la tesis consiste en tres novelas: Teoría del desencanto (1985), del ecuatoriano Raúl Pérez Torres, Nombre de torero (1994) del chileno Luis Sepúlveda, y A quien corresponda (2010) del argentino Martín Caparrós. Estas novelas han sido elegidas porque abordan la temática de la guerrilla urbana y muestran, desde ángulos distintos, los horizontes de vida accesibles para el guerrillero derrotado tras su paso por la lucha armada. Adicionalmente, conviene recalcar que los tres autores estuvieron vinculados personalmente con los movimientos guerrilleros de sus respectivos países...
This doctoral thesis, entitled The Defeat of the Urban Guerrilla Fighter in the Latin American novel (1990-2010): the return from clandestinity, examines literary productions that deal with the problem of the Latin American defeated guerrilla fighter. Forced by circumstances, this figure must adapt to a reality tailored to the whims of the winners. The corpus of the thesis is made up of three novels: Teoría del desencanto [Theory of disenchantment (1985)], by Ecuadorean Raúl Pérez Torres, Nombre de torero [Bullfighter’s name (1994)] by Chilean Luis Sepúlveda and A quien corresponda [To whom it may correspond (2010)] by Argentinean Martín Caparrós. These novels have been chosen because they address the theme of the urban guerrilla and show, from different points of view, the horizons of life which are accessible to the guerrilla fighter who was defeated after taking part in armed resistance. Additionally, it worth underlining that the three authors were personally involved with the guerrilla movements in their corresponding homelands...
