Abstract
El presente trabajo de investigación, tesis doctoral, se desarrolla en torno a las actitudes hacia la estadística en alumnos universitarios. Se plantean varias cuestiones entres ellas la que da inicio al problema de investigación ¿cómo son las actitudes hacia la estadística en estudiantes universitarios y cuál es su relación con variables personales y socio-demográficas, conocimiento del grado, formación previa y autoconcepto académico? Las actitudes son una agrupación de tendencias inferidas que dirigen las acciones personales del sujeto. Surgen en edades tempranas, y aunque tienden a ser favorables en un principio, pueden evolucionar en forma negativa a medida que pasan los años y se ven influenciadas por la experiencia (Estrada, Bazán y Aparicio, 2013). En un mundo cada vez más globalizado, digitalizado y cargado de datos los trabajos de futuro estarán basados en el análisis de los datos y de la información que cada vez es más numerosa (García, 2017), es por ello que resulta fundamental procurar que el alumnado no solo se interese por aprender y estudiar la estadística sino que también desarrolle unas actitudes favorables que les permitan acercarse a esta importante materia con agrado, considerándola útil para su futuro y, de esta forma, consigan un buen rendimiento académico y profesional en este campo de estudio. The present research, doctoral thesis, is developed around attitudes towards statistics in university students. Several questions are posed among them which give rise to the research problem: what are the attitudes towards statistics in university students and what is their relationship with personal and socio-demographic variables, knowledge of the degree, previous education and academic self-concept? Attitudes are a set of inferred predispositions that guide personal actions. They arise at an early age, and although they tend to be favorable at first, they can evolve negatively as the years pass and are influenced by experience (Estrada, Bazán and Aparicio, 2013). In an increasingly globalized world, digitized and loaded with data, future works will be based on the analysis of data and information that is increasingly numerous (García, 2017), which is why it is essential to ensure that the students not only interested in learning and studying statistics but also develop favorable attitudes that allow them to approach this important subject with pleasure, considering it useful for their future and, in this way, achieve a good academic and professional performance in this field study.
