Abstract
Critical Agents presents a very particular ethnography of the key characters in the Spanish public art landscape. All of them have contributed from the end of the 1980s to the present day to configure the scene of artistic practices that move through the political and the social in Spanish territory. It is also the result of work within the UNED Urban Culture Group in the research “Practicemad: emerging cultural practices in the new Madrid» (cso2009-10780), which was later called “Madrid Cosmopolis: emerging practices and metropolitan processes» ( cso2012-33949). The book follows the long tradition of the art of conversation. A mobile and nomadic hall. As the author writes in the introduction: "Against a Napoleonic, aggressive, confrontational, individualistic and selfish way, I have wanted, asking, to know what is collective in the life of each of my guests." And that is the final objective, to elucidate in a self-account of each guest what is collective and common in the life of each of them.
