Abstract
El temor y la ansiedad social (AS), son dos fenómenos que responden a razones adaptativas, en las que se activan "alertas", ante situaciones sociales inciertas; cuando se presentan de manera disfuncional, pueden alcanzar niveles clínicos de malestar, tal es el caso del Trastorno de Ansiedad Social (TAS), caracterizado por el miedo intenso a ser evaluado por parte de los demás. El TAS muestra una marcada dimensionalidad, ya que sus características centrales se encuentran presentes, aunque en niveles diversos, también en población sub-clínica; además, presenta una tasa elevada de comorbilidad. En los últimos años, se ha reconocido la importancia de los estudios trasndiagnósticos de cara a una mejor comprensión de la etiología y el mantenimiento del Trastorno. De allí que el presente estudio tenga como objetivo identificar el valor predictivo de la regulación emocional; la intolerancia ante la incertidumbre, los pensamientos repetitivos negativos, la auto-presentación perfeccionista, el perfeccionismo socialmente prescrito; así como el de las variables inherentes a la sintomatología psicopatológica del estrés, la ansiedad y la depresión; en relación a los síntomas de la AS presentes en la población general. Para ello, se propone una investigación transversal correlacional exploratoria, realizada con una muestra de 175 personas, mediante la aplicación de 9 cuestionarios psicométricos estandarizados de auto-informe. Se realizan pruebas CHI2, correlación bivariada de Pearson, y regresión linear múltiple. Se presentan y discuten los resultados y se proponen las conclusiones.
Fear and social anxiety (SA) are two phenomena that respond to adaptive reasons, in which "alerts" are activated when faced with uncertain social situations; when they occur in a dysfunctional manner, they can reach clinical levels of discomfort, as is the case with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), characterized by intense fear of being evaluated by others. SAD shows a marked dimensionality, since its central characteristics are present, although at different levels, also in the sub-clinical population; in addition, it presents a high rate of comorbidity. In recent years, the importance of transdiagnostic studies for a better understanding of the etiology and maintenance of the disorder has been recognized. Hence, the present study aims to identify the predictive value of emotional regulation; intolerance to uncertainty, negative repetitive thoughts, perfectionist self-presentation, socially prescribed perfectionism; as well as the variables inherent to the psychopathological symptomatology of stress, anxiety and depression in relation to the symptoms of SA present in the general population. To this end, an exploratory correlational cross-sectional research is proposed, carried out with a sample of 175 people, through the application of 9 standardized psychometric self-report questionnaires. CHI2, Pearson bivariate correlation, and multiple linear regression are performed. The results are presented and discussed and conclusions are proposed.
