Abstract
La osteogénesis imperfecta (OI) es un grupo fenotípico y genéticamente heterogéneo de displasias óseas hereditarias, caracterizado por huesos que se rompen fácilmente, literalmente significa "hueso formado de manera imperfecta". Las personas con OI tienen un defecto genético que afecta la capacidad del cuerpo para formar huesos fuertes también se llama "enfermedad de los hueso de cristal". Los pacientes afectados severamente tienen fracturas múltiples desde la infancia, fracturas espontáneas y relacionadas con un trauma mínimo, en los afectados más grave, los niños generalmente mueren en el período neonatal.

El presente Trabajo Fin de Máster en CC Odontológicas, se halla encuadrado dentro de la línea de investigación relativa a la “Contribución de las repercusiones orales y craneofaciales al diagnóstico actual de la Osteogénesis Imperfecta y a su modulación terapéutica”.
