Abstract
Este trabajo propone una traducción al español de los tres primeros capítulos de "Die jüdische Orgel" (Rikola Verlag, 1922), novela del autor checo en lengua alemana Ludwig Winder. En el trabajo se analiza el contexto y la época en que la novela surgió y la trayectoria literaria y vital del autor antes y después de escribirla, con especial énfasis en su relación con el círculo de Praga y con la literatura judía en lengua alemana característica de aquel tiempo y lugar. Se analiza la relación de esta obra con el expresionismo, época y estilo que marcan el texto, y, en lo referente al contenido, con el judaísmo y el antisemitismo, y se reflexiona sobre cómo estas circunstancias externas al texto impregnan la obra y afectan a la traducción de un modo determinante. Una vez realizado este análisis, se toman y justifican las decisiones traductológicas relativas al ritmo y la sintaxis, la intertextualidad, los elementos culturales, los términos en yiddish y los nombres parlantes. Como criterios generales, se han intentado mantener en la versión española los elementos expresionistas o rasgos de la época —pues constituyen el verdadero valor literario del texto— aunque algunos puedan resultarle poco naturales al lector hispanohablante, que no cuenta con referentes idénticos en la tradición literaria en lengua española.
This dissertation proposes a translation into Spanish of the three first chapters of "Die jüdische Orgel" (Rikola Verlag, 1922), a novel of the Czech author in German language Ludwig Winder. This essay also analyses the context and the period in which the novel was written and published and examines the author’s trajectory before and after writing it. Special emphasis will be made on his connection to the Prague Circle and the German-language Jewish literature of that time and place. This Master’s dissertation also analyses the relation of this novel with Expressionism, a movement that brands the novel, as well as Judaism and Antisemitism, and reflects on how all these external circumstances affect the translation in a decisive way. After this analysis, the translator’s decisions regarding the rhythm and the syntax, the intertextuality, the cultural elements, the Yiddish terms, and the “Speaking Names” are made and justified. Generally the expressionist elements or features of the period have been maintained in the Spanish version —because they constitute the true literary value of the text— although some of them may seem unnatural to the Spanish-speaking reader, who does not have identical references in the literary tradition of the Spanish language.
