Examples of mathematical models for problems in materials science and mechanics: defects and ripples in graphene, dislocation motion and nucleation in crystals, homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleation of particles and bubbles, motion of domain walls and Gunn effect in semiconductor structures, nondestructive testing of materials.
