Abstract
[ABSTRACT] There is a proliferation of recommender systems that cope with the challenge of addressing recommendations for groups of users in different domains. The work presented in here involves the improvement of current group recommendation techniques by introducing three novel factors: the personality of every individual in the group, the structure of the group itself and the experience obtained through previous recommendations. In this project we present our theories for making recommendations to groups of people connected through social network structures. Our method consists on making recommendations to groups using existing techniques of collaborative filtering, taking into account the group personality composition and the social connections between the individuals of the group. We have performed a case study with real users in the movie recommendation domain where we identify the set of social factors that influence in the trust between users and how they impact in the recommendation process. We have also studied the different group personality compositions, and how its distribution, the size of the group or the trust among users can inffuence in the recommendation. We have analyzed this factors not only with real data but also with synthetic data. To be able to evaluate the reaction of the users towards the recommendations and to avoid future repeticions of the recommendations we have developed a system with memory where we store the solutions proposed by the recommender and we make an analysis of the users happiness through time. Finally we did a variation of our recommender system with distributed models and argumentation using JCOLIBRI and D2ISCO.
