Abstract
A partir de las imágenes de una serie de obras de arte y la definición del velo como cosa delgada, ligera o flotante, que encubre más o menos la vista de otra, analizaremos las cuestiones que plantea este objeto desde el punto de vista de la pintura y la fotografía. El velo tiene la capacidad de la alteridad, puede ser él y apariencia de otra cosa al cubrirla. Nos permite ver lo velado al tacto, cualidad que le sitúa en relación directa con el discurso de la imagen divina impresa, como el sudario de Turín. Su poder se basa en la tenuidad, capacidad para pasar desapercibido, disimulándose a sí mismo al igual que es capaz de atenuar lo que envuelva. Contiene, a la vez que separa y dependiendo de su transparencia u opacidad, puede dejar ver más o menos lo que cubre, por este motivo, ha sido un instrumento muy utilizado para seducir, sobretodo, por la mujer. Estas cualidades contagian a su vez a la imagen pictórica y fotográfica, ya que el velo está enraizado en sus orígenes, cuya apariencia tiene más interés del que nos permite ver...[ABSTRACT]From the images of a serie of works of art and the definition of the veil as something thin, light and floating, which covers roughly the view of another, we will discuss issues raised by this object from the standpoint of painting and photography. The veil is capable of adopt the appearance of the veiled object. It has the quality of otherness. We can see objects when the veil rest on them, a quality that puts it in direct relation to the discourse of the divine image printed, as the Shroud of Turin. Its power is based on the tenuity, ability to go unnoticed. Contains, while separating and depending on the transparency or opacity, may reveal more or less what it covers, for this reason, has been a widely used tool to entice, to seduce, especially by women.
