Abstract

The advent of some American plants, especially cinchona, and its therapeutic use, cause a great controversy among physicians and apothecaries. These disputes raised many publications on the subject in Spain and preserved at the Biblioteca Histórica UCM and could be summarized under the heading "the controversy over the use of the cinchona”
