Abstract
As metodologias ativas na Educação, há tempos, ocupam um contraponto importante nos métodos tradicionais de ensino, assumindo características de inovação nas diversas áreas em que têm sido utilizadas. Paralelamente a estas, o uso crescente das Tecnologias Digitais de Informação e Comunicação (TDIC) revolucionou todos os setores da sociedade, demonstrando, também na Educação, impacto indiscutível e inovador, como demonstra o advento da Educação a Distância online (EaD). Ainda há, entretanto, pouca aceitação da possível convergência entre as metodologias ativas e as TDIC, apesar de indicações sinalizando a ocorrência de melhores resultados quando se utiliza, por exemplo, a Aprendizagem Baseada em Problemas (PBL) empregando EaD online. Frente a um aparente antagonismo, o objetivo deste estudo é refletir sobre a complementariedade, mais do que a antítese, entre as metodologias ativas e as tecnologias digitais, especificamente no que concerne à EaD baseada na web. Visa, ainda, analisar a importância das metodologias ativas no uso das TDIC em EaD online em relação às competências de aprendizagem e às estratégias utilizadas, no que tange à educação continuada e o uso do conhecimento adquirido em serviço por parte dos profissionais que realizam cursos em EaD na área da saúde. Metodologicamente, no âmbito da pesquisa empírica, analisa o que pensam os professores-tutores, que participam de cursos lato sensu ofertados pelo Núcleo de Tecnologias e Educação a Distância, da Universidade Federal do Ceará/Brasi) (NUTEDS/UFC) em relação às metodologias ativas e o uso das TDIC, a partir do que é ofertado no Ambiente Virtual de Ensino-Aprendizagem (AVEA). Conclui-se que, ainda existe grande espaço a ser preenchido pelo uso das tecnologias digitais nos processos de ensino-aprendizagem, em todos os níveis, e o ensino superior, em qualquer área, não constitui uma exceção.

The active methods for teaching and learning occupy an important counterpoint to the traditional teaching methods, assuming innovation characteristics in the various areas in which they have been used. Alongside these, the increasing use of the Information and Digital Communication Technologies (IDCT) has revolutionized every sector of society, demonstrating also in education, undisputed and innovative impact, as shown by the advent of the Online Distance Education Programs. Despite the evidences showing good results for a combined application, as in the case of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) using the online education programs, there is poor acceptance of a possible convergence of the active methods for teaching and learning, and the IDCT. Confronting an apparent antagonism, the aim of this study is to reflect on the complementarity among them rather than the antithesis between the active methods and digital technologies, specifically for the web-based distance education. It also aims to analyze the importance of the active methodologies in the use of the IDCT in online distance education programs, the relation of the learning skills and the strategies used for the continuing education, and the use of knowledge acquired on the job by professionals who perform courses by the distance education in health care. In the empirical research methodology, it analyzes the evaluations of tutors participating in courses offered by the Technologies Nucleus and Distance Education of the Federal University of Ceará/Brazil (NUTEDS / UFC). In the relation to active methodologies and use of the IDCT from what is offered in the Virtual Environment for Teaching and Learning (VETL), we conclude that there is still great space to be filled by the use of the digital technologies in the teaching-learning processes, at all levels, and higher education in any field, is no exception.
