Abstract
En este trabajo revisamos el concepto de motivación y hacemos hincapié en las diferencias existentes entre motivación intrínseca y extrínseca. En el proceso introducimos las variables que impactan (positiva o negativamente) en la motivación laboral y las técnicas utilizadas para el cálculo de la misma. Asimismo se ofrece una nueva metodología, utilizada para medir la motivación extrínseca. La aplicación del modelo se realizó sobre una muestra amplia de docentes e investigadores en universidades europeas: Freie Universität y Humboldt Universität en Alemania, y la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos en España, en un período comprendido entre Marzo de 2013 a Agosto de 2014.
In this work we review the concept of motivation and we stress the differences between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. In the process we introduce the variables that have an impact on work motivation and the techniques used for its measurement. Below you will find an original model, used to measure extrinsic motivation. The fieldwork was carried out on a wide selection of professors at the following European universities: Freie Universität and Humboldt Universität in Germany, and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Spain, from March 2013 to August 2014.
