Abstract
La presente tesis se ocupa de la reformulación de la noción de sujeto a partir de las propuestas teóricas de C. Mouffe y J. Butler, así como de diferentes prácticas artísticas que, situadas en el contexto español y durante los últimos 25 años, proponen también una reformulación de la subjetividad y la identidad desde una perspectiva antiesencialista. El objetivo de esta aproximación a la reformulación de la subjetividad, desde puntos de vista feministas y antiesencialistas, tanto en el campo teórico como en el de la práctica artística, radica en atender a las posibilidades que dichas reformulaciones pueden abrir para la transformación social, prestando especial atención al cuestionamiento de las normas de género, sexo y sexualidad que estas propuestas conllevan. En este sentido uno de los objetivos principales de esta tesis ha estado puesto en visibilizar, por un lado, las implicaciones políticas de la reformulación sobre la noción de sujeto que teóricas feministas y antiesencialistas como J. Butler y C. Mouffe han llevado a cabo y, por otro, visibilizar también la capacidad de acción política del arte en tanto que en él, y a través de propuestas y prácticas diversas, se producen nuevos modelos de sujetos e identidades contrahegemónicos desde perspectivas igualmente antiesencialistas. ! Para ello hemos dividido la tesis en dos partes, con el objetivo de ocuparnos en la primera del análisis de las propuestas teóricas y, durante la segunda, centrar nuestra reflexión en el campo del arte. This thesis discusses the reformulation of the concept of subject based on the theoretical proposals of C. Mouffe and J. Butler, as well as various artistic practices developed in the Spanish context over the past 25 years, which also provide a redefinition of subjectivity and identity from an anti-essentialist perspective. This approach to the reformulation of subjectivity from feminist and anti-essentialist points of view – both theoretically and in the field of artistic practice – aimes at addressing the possibilities that such reformulations might offer for social transformation, with specific emphasis on how these proposals challenge the norms about gender, sex and sexuality. In this regard, one of the main objectives of this thesis is, on the one hand, to identify the political implications of the redefinition of the concept of subject undertaken by feminist and anti-essentialist theorists such as J. Butler and C. Mouffe and, on the other hand, to bring to light the potential of art as political action, in so far as diverse artistic projects and practices shape new models of counter-hegemonic subjects and identities from similarly anti-essentialist perspectives. ! To that end, the thesis is organized in two parts. The first part deals with the analysis of the conceptual framework whereas the second part moves on to focus on the field of art.
