Abstract
¿Cuál es el interés y la necesidad de que las bibliotecas constituyan o actualicen sus colecciones relativas a la cultura LGTBI? ¿Cómo deben hacerlo? Los autores nos hacemos estas preguntas porque entre 2014 y 2016 se han aprobado leyes autonómicas de igualdad -en Galicia, Cataluña, Extremadura, Madrid, Murcia y Baleares- con artículos donde se prescriben estas colecciones. Forman parte de las medidas para promover y garantizar la igualdad de derechos de todas las personas indistintamente de su identidad, condición o práctica sexual. Para reflexionar sobre ello hemos recordado algunas aportaciones de la biblioteconomía y dialogado en los términos que recogemos a continuación.

What is the interest and need for libraries to build or update their collections on LGTBI culture? How should they do it? The authors ask these questions because, between 2014 and 2016, equality laws have been passed in different parts of Spain - in Galicia, Cataluña, Extremadura, Madrid, Murcia and Baleares - with articles prescribing these collections. They are part of the measures to promote and guarantee the equal rights of all people regardless of their sexual identity, condition or practice. To reflect on this we have recalled some contributions of the librarianship and dialogued in the terms that we collect below.
