Abstract
No contamos con trabajos que delimiten el significado de la palabra interiorismo, por lo que es esencial acotarla y definirla adecuadamente. Según el diccionario académico, el interiorismo es "Arte de acondicionar y decorar los espacios interiores dela arquitectura". La palabra interiorismo, aúna, pues, un aspecto funcional y otro estético, el primero se expresa con el verbo acondicionar (se refiere a proveer de una cierta condición o calidad); el segundo, por su parte, remite a la dimensión artística, puesto que emplea el verbo decorar. El presente trabajo se centra en la decoración mediante los objetos domésticos o interiores de las viviendas. si bien también se ha buscado la conexión del interiorismo con la arquitectura y sus técnicas, incluso con distintas artes decorativas. Se ha elegido el estudio de la evolución del léxico del interiorismo, porque integra parcialmente el de distintas especialidades y también por la idoneidad del tema para avanzar en el conocimiento de la sociedad y la cultura del periodo que comprende desde el siglo XVIII hasta el primer tercio del siglo XX, por ello se ha tenido en cuenta cómo repercutieron en la decoración de interiores los principales movimientos artísticos. We do not have research that delimits the meaning of the word interiorismo, soit is essential to narrow it down and define it properly. According to the academicdictionary, interiorismo is the "Art of conditioning and decorating the interior spaces ofarchitecture". The word interiorismo, therefore, combines a functional and an aestheticaspect, the first is expressed with the verb to condition (it refers to providing a certaincondition or quality); the second, refers to the artistic dimension, since it uses the verbto decorate. The present work focuses on the decoration through the domestic objects orinterior of the houses. Although it has also sought the connection of interiorismo witharchitecture and its techniques, even with different decorative arts. The study of the evolution of the lexicon of interiorismo has been chosenbecause it partially integrates the different specialties and also for the suitability of thesubject in advancing the knowledge of the society and the culture during the periodfrom the eighteenth century until the early twentieth century, thus taking into accounthow the main artistic movements are reflected in the field of interior decoration.
