Abstract
Desde la aparición de los primero estudios del Profesor Branemark, los implantes han sido utilizado con éxito en la rehabilitación de piezas dentarias ausentes. Hoy en día, existen gran cantidad de empresas que comercializan con implantes, algunas de ellas han desarrollado su sistema con sus propias conexiones entre implante y pilar, otras han copiado estos diseños de conexiones para incorporarlos en sus implantes, siendo ambas compatibles. Since Branemark first study, osseointegrated dental implants made of commercially pure titanium have been used successfully to replace missingteeth. Nowadays, multiple brands of implants are available in the market. Some companies have developed their own implant connection. These original designs have been incorporated in a number of competing companies that offer the so called “clonical” or “compatible” connections. Compatible abutments are often used by clinicians. There is a lack of information in Literature about the adequacy of this interchange. The present study aims to understand if the exchange of components can be suitable and if it can influence the success of the implant therapy.
