Abstract
La estética oral, tanto en reposo como en sonrisa, es fundamental en el plan de tratamiento ortodóncico. Los labios superior e inferior encuadran la zona de visualización de la sonrisa y no analizar la dinámica labial puede llevar a fracasos en el tratamiento. Los tejidos blandos se disponen de diferente forma en base a las estructuras óseas maxilofaciales desarrolladas según el patrón facial. Dado que existen tres patrones faciales bien definidos, podrían encontrarse las características comunes que se repiten y definen como marco del reposo y de la sonrisa.La hipótesis nula de este trabajo es que no existen diferencias en reposo y en la forma de la sonrisa en los distintos patrones faciales...
When orthodontic treatment is being planned, an analysis of oral aesthetics, in both the smile and rest positions, is fundamental. The upper and lower lips frame the display zone of the smile and rest positions and failure to analyse lip dynamics can lead to failure in treatment. The soft tissue will be arranged differently depending on the maxillofacial bone structures that develop based on the facial pattern.
