Abstract
Un abrazo (he procurado animar la carta con dibujos)”. De esta forma,terminaba Federico García Lorca una misiva con ilustraciones dirigida a Jorge Guillén en enero de 1927. La indicación del poeta no debe pasar desapercibida.Así, esta Tesis Doctoral explora las presencias, los significados, las formas, las intenciones y las funciones de los dibujos existentes en la correspondencia epistolar entre creadores e intelectuales de vanguardia(s), prestando especial atención a la comunidad postal establecida por García Lorca. El trabajo tiene una estructura tripartita. La primera parte, que lleva por título Arte en movimiento, consiste en una aproximación teórica a las características más relevantes del género epistolar a través del análisis que del uso postal y del dibujo hicieron los creadores. En el capítulo I, se realizan diversas reflexiones epistemológicas que se aplican a nuestro ámbito de estudio. En el II, se contextualizan tanto la composición de la correspondencia entre creadores de vanguardia(s) como la actividad dibujística –los dos aspectos principales que vertebran esta Tesis– en el interior de unas prácticas sociales...

His comment should not pass unnoticed.Accordingly, this doctoral thesis explores the presence, meanings, forms,intentions, and functions of drawings extant in the epistolary correspondence carried outbetween creators and intellectuals of the avant-garde(s) paying special attention to thepostal community established by García Lorca.This study has a tri-part structure. Part One, titled Art in Movement, consists of atheoretical treatise listing the most relevant features of the epistolary genre through ananalysis of the use of the postal service, as well as the drawings of the authors. ChapterOne carries out a series of epistemological reflections that respond to the nature of thisstudy. Chapter Two contextualizes not only the composition of the correspondencebetween creators of the avant-garde(s), but the activity of drawing --both principles thatform the backbone of this thesis-- as the basis of specific social practices...
