Abstract
La circulación monetaria es una de las principales materias de estudio alrededor de la moneda. Será el estudio de ésta la principal meta del trabajo, concretamente aquella que tiene que ver con el Reino visigodo de Toledo. Para su análisis e investigación no sólo se ha de recurrir a la propia moneda como tal, sino que son tanto los tesoros como los hallazgos de moneda en contexto arqueológico los que nos darán la información necesaria para arrojar luz sobre este tema tan escasamente tratado. Para ello nos retrotraeremos a los siglos VI, VII y VIII, momento en que la monarquía visigoda dominaba Hispania, habiendo heredado del Imperio Romano tanto su estructura administrativa, como también su moneda, aunque con ciertas particularidades que ya mencionaremos.
The monetary circulation is one of the principal study subjects related to the coinage. This will be the main purpose of this work, specifically the one which is involved with the Visigothic kingdom of Toledo. For its analysis and research we have to draw on to the coinage itself, but also to the treasures and findings of coin in arqueological context, which will give us the necessary information for developing this subject. For that, we go back in time to the VIth, VIIth and VIIIth centuries, time when the Visigothic monarchy ruled Hispania, having inherited the administrative structure of the Roman Empire, and also its coinage, but with certain particularities that we will allude.
