Abstract
El vídeo, como forma expresiva independiente, apenas cuenta con medio siglo de existencia. A pesar de su enorme importancia dentro del ámbito audiovisual, apenas ha sido objeto de estudios teóricos. Aquí se recapitulan algunas propuestas y se intenta una aproximación teórica global.

The video, as an independent expressive form, has scarcely half a century of existence. Despite its enormous importance in the audiovisual field, it has hardly been the subject of theoretical studies. Here are summarized some proposals, and a global theoretical approximation is attempted.
