Abstract
En esta investigación se presenta un estudio sobre el ideal de belleza del cuerpo humano desde distintas perspectivas, para analizar, si en la actualidad son los artistas o los cirujanos plásticos los que desarrollan el “ideal de belleza”, intervienen otras profesiones o se producen desplazamientos a lo largo del tiempo. Tratamos de entender la relevancia de lo que se entiende por “belleza” desde múltiples perspectivas como la artística, la médica o la filosófica, así como la forma en que ha llegado a nuestra sociedad, su contexto, interrelaciones y relevancia social.En esta tesis doctoral, tratamos de conocer si se ha perdido protagonismo en las funciones de construcción de la belleza del cuerpo, reemplazándose este interés desde el plano de las Bellas Artes hasta otros constructores de identidad social tales como el cine, la televisión o la publicidad, “que emplean el sistema de la cultura de la cirugía estética como la herramienta de construcción del ideal de belleza” y que han sido herederos directos de la configuración del ideal de belleza regido tradicionalmente por nuestra tradición artística occidental...
This research presents a study on the ideal of beauty of the human body from different perspectives to analyze, whether artists or plastic surgeons develop the “ideal of beauty” currently, other professions are involved or displacements occur over time. We try to understand the relevance of what is meant by “beauty” from multiple perspectives such as artistic, medical or philosophical, as well as the way it has reached our society, its context, interrelations and social relevance. In this doctoral thesis, we try to find out if we have lost prominence in the commitment of building the beauty of the body, replacing this interest from Fine Arts to other constructors of social identity such as cinema, television or advertising, “Which uses the cosmetic surgery culture system as the building tool of the ideal of beauty” and which have been direct heirs of the configuration of the ideal beauty traditionally ruled by our Western artistic tradition...
