Abstract
La presente tesis doctoral se ocupa, desde una perspectiva interdisciplinar, de uno de los casos de recepción productiva de la Divina Comedia más originales y fascinantes del siglo XX, de un episodio singular dentro del amplio y heterogéneo horizonte del dantismo creativo contemporáneo. En concreto, el objeto de estudio del trabajo que aquí se reseña es el obsesivo diálogo creativo e intelectual que el dramaturgo alemán Peter Weiss (1916-1982) establece con Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) desde el proyecto de reescritura de la Divina Commedia –al que se dedica el escritor berlinés entre los años 1964 y 1969 (DC-Projekt)– hasta La estética de la resistencia –el ensayo-novela de los años setenta (1975-1981) que todavía no ha sido traducido al italiano y que representa sin duda una de las obras cumbre de la narrativa alemana contemporánea. El estudio de las diferentes etapas que atraviesa el tortuoso dantismo de Peter Weiss, así como el exhaustivo análisis del drama Inferno (2003) –una reescritura actualizante del primer cántico del poema medieval, aún inédita en España, y realizada en el contexto de la primera fase del DC-Projekt– permiten cifrar en el alegorismo de la Divina Commedia, de controvertida y compleja definición, la clave explicativa del intenso encuentro intelectual entre Dante Alighieri y Peter Weiss...
This PhD thesis analyses, using an interdisciplinary approach, one of the most original and fascinating instances of the creative reception of the Divine Comedy that has taken place in the 20th century, a singular case in the hetergoneous and vast field of contemporary creative dantism. This research focuses on German playwright Peter Weiss’s (1916-1982) obssessive, creative and intellectual dialogue with Dante Alighieri (1265-1321), from his Divine Comedy re-writing project –developed between 1964-1969 (DC-Projekt)– to his 70’s literary-essay The Aesthetics of Resistance (1975-1981) which hasn’t been translated into Italian yet, and which doubtlessly represents one of the crowning achievements of German contemporary literature. In studying the different stages Peter Weiss’s tortuous dantism, and analysing thoroughly his play Inferno (2003) —an actualizing rewriting of the first Cantica of the medieval poem, still unedited in Spain, and carried out in the context of the first phase of the DCProjekt— we can understand the complex and controversial allegorism of the Divine Comedy as the cue into the intense intellectual encounter between Dante Alighieri and Peter Weiss...
