Abstract
En este trabajo se ha abordado el estudio de una población particular de conejos originaria de Ibiza, el conejo Ibicenco o conill pagès D'Eivissa, reconocido como agrupación racial autóctona y extendido hoy en día por otros territorios, tanto en las Islas Baleares como en algunas zonas de la península. Por una parte, se ha realizado su caracterización genética, estudiando caracteres demográficos, otros relacionados con el origen de los genes, consanguinidad y tamaño efectivo de la población y su estructura genética. Por otra parte, se ha llevado a cabo la caracterización productiva y bromatológica de la carne del conejo Ibicenco, comparándola con los conejos híbridos que se utilizan comercialmente para la producción de carne. El conejo Ibicenco se caracteriza por una talla mediana y su característica principal en el aspecto exterior es tener fijado el gen “Dutch”, que se traduce en la existencia de una banda blanca alrededor del tórax, así como en el borde anterior de la cabeza, hocico y en la parte distal de las extremidades. El resto de la capa puede ser de color negro, gris, naranja o marrón, con distintos grados de intensidad...
In this work the study of a particular population of rabbits originating in Ibiza, the Ibicenco rabbit or conill pagès D'Eivissa, recognized as an indigenous racial group and extended today by other territories, both in the Balearic Islands and in some areas of the peninsula. On the one hand, its genetic characterization has been carried out, studying demographic characters, others related to the gene’s origin, imbreeding, effective population size and their genetic structure. On the other hand, the productive and bromatological characterization of Ibicenco rabbit meat has been carried out, comparing it with hybrid rabbits that are used commercially for meat production.The Ibicenco rabbit is characterized by a medium size and its main feature on the outside is to have the "Dutch" gene, which results in the existence of a white band around the thorax, as well as on the edge of the head, snout and paws. The rest of the layer can be black, gray, orange or brown, with varying degrees of intensity...
