Abstract
Objetivo: El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar la eficacia de un colutorio con clorhexidina (CHX) al 0,03% combinado con cloruro cetilpiridinio (CPC) al 0,05% como coadyuvante a la terapia mecánica para el tratamiento de la gingivitis y mucositis periimplantaria. Material y métodos: Pacientes con presencia de al menos un implante con mucositis periimplantaria se incluyeron en este ensayo clínico aleatorizado. Los pacientes recibieron una profilaxis profesional en basal y a los seis meses y fueron instruidos para realizar un correcto control del biofilm mecánico y usar el colutorio o el placebo dos veces al día durante un año. Resultados: En la presente publicación se aportan los resultados de las variables clínicas a boca completa. Ambos grupos de tratamiento muestran una reducción estadísticamente significativa en las variables clínicas en el tiempo, pero el efecto del grupo no siempre resulta estadísticamente significativo. Conclusión: No se espera un beneficio adicional tras el uso del colutorio con CHX al 0,03% y CPC al 0,05% como coadyuvante a la terapia mecánica a nivel de boca completa.
