Abstract
Las estepas son ecosistemas que bajo la apariencia de un paisaje árido y monótono, esconden una gran biodiversidad. Frecuentemente se desarrollan en estos ambientes especies florísticas y faunísticas endémicas que constituyen un gran patrimonio medioambiental. Por otra parte, pueden ser lugares que generen usos productivos que supongan un beneficio económico para las poblaciones humanas asentadas en ellas. El valor ecológico de las estepas, merece ser conocido y valorado y ello puede lograse a través de la educación ambiental al mismo tiempo que el pasaje estepario puede ser una herramienta de utilidad para la enseñanza de valores en el contexto de la ecología y el desarrollo sostenible. En la península Ibérica, las comarcas aragonesas de los Monegros y Campo de Belchite, ubicadas en el valle del Ebro, constituyen un ejemplo de diversidad biológica. The steppes are ecosystems that, under the appearance of an arid and monotonous landscape, hide a great biodiversity. Frequently, endemic floristic and faunistic species that constitute a great environmental heritage are developed in these environments. On the other hand, they can be places that generate productive uses that suppose an economic benefit for the human populations settled in them. The ecological value of the steppes deserves to be known and valued and this can be achieved through environmental education at the same time that the steppe passage can be a use fultool for teaching values in the context of ecology and sustain able development. In the Iberian Peninsula, the Aragonese regions of Monegros and Campo de Belchite, located in the Ebro Valley, are an example of biological diversity. However, although they enjoy some environmental protection, they are little appreciated by the inhabitants of the region...
