Abstract
La tesis “Del escándalo al duelo: un análisis de las tendencias informativas sobre el arte contemporáneo en la prensa online” tiene como objeto realizar una reflexión y servir de inspiración para futuros trabajos de investigación acerca de cuánto y cómo aparece reseñado el arte contemporáneo en los medios de comunicación de masas, en concreto, en las noticias profesionales de la prensa online.
Para la realización de este trabajo se han realizado entrevistas personales, una extensa labor de documentación, formaciones técnicas adicionales en lenguajes de programación y estadística y dos estancias internacionales en la Universidad de Harvard —Ciencias Sociales— y la Real Academia de España en Roma —Humanidades—, donde se han desarrollado investigaciones de carácter estocástico-cuantitativo y generativo-cualitativo, respectivamente.
En primer lugar, se propone un análisis cualitativo, con un marco teórico que analiza bajo diferentes perspectivas —técnica, sociológicas funcionalista y crítica, semiótica— la hipótesis de que ambos sistemas, el del arte contemporáneo y la prensa online, son en realidad subsistemas del sistema de la comunicación cuyas funciones han ido evolucionando históricamente y que, actualmente, los periodistas manejan una entropía baja y los artistas una entropía alta, habiendo asumido los medios funciones de las artes; más aún, ambos sistemas no se relacionarían directamente porque cumplen funciones complementarias, sino que lo harían a través de otros sistemas de la esfera pública. A continuación, se han investigado los conceptos utilizados: ‘arte contemporáneo’ y ‘noticias de prensa online’ y los discursos tutores de ambos sistemas en el último siglo, en concreto en relación a nuestro país, comparándose fundamentalmente las posiciones teóricas del comportamiento de los sistemas sociales a partir de las teorías —ampliamente contrastadas— de Luhmann y Habermas, funcionalista y crítica...
The present study, "From scandal to mourning: an analysis of the information trends on contemporary art in the online press", addresses the goal to reflect and inspire future dissertations on how contemporary art appears in the mass media, specifically, in the professional news of the online press. Simoultaneously with a large volumen of personal interviews and an intense documentation effort, I have completed an additional technical training in programming and statistical languages, and two international stays at Harvard University —Social Sciences— and the Royal Academy of Spain in Rome —Humanities—. A research of a stochasticquantitative and generative-qualitative nature, respectively, has been carried out. Firstly, a qualitative analysis is proposed, with a theoretical framework that analyzes from different perspectives —technical, functionalist and critical, semiotic— the hypothesis that both systems, Contemporary art and the Online press, are actually subsystems of the Communication system whose functions have evolved historically and, currently, journalists manage low entropy levels and artists a high one, having the media assumed functions of the arts; Furthermore, both systems would not be directly related because they fulfill complementary functions, but rather through other systems in the public sphere. Next, the concepts used have been investigated: 'contemporary art' and 'online press news' and the mentoring speeches of both systems in the last century, specifically in relation to our country, fundamentally comparing the theoretical positions of the behavior of the social systems based on the theories —widely contrasted— of Luhmann and Habermas, functionalist and critic...
