Abstract
Introducción: el consumo de drogas es un serio problema de salud pública muy extendido entre la población adolescente. Además, presenta una multitud de factores de riesgo y de consecuencias negativas para el individuo, a nivel físico, psicológico y social. Objetivos: conocer la situación actual del tema, así como las principales intervenciones enfermeras que hoy en día se llevan a cabo para solucionar este problema. Metodología: se llevó a cabo una búsqueda bibliográfica en las bases de datos CINAHL y PUBMED, seleccionando los artículos con texto completo disponible, que estuviesen en inglés o castellano y que no tuviesen más de 10 años de antigüedad. Resultados: se encontraron 161 artículos, de los cuales se incluyeron finalmente 28. La importancia de la enfermera escolar y de su enorme potencial, la entrevista motivacional, la realización de intervenciones individualizadas y mantenidas en el tiempo, el abordaje integral del problema y la necesidad de formar al profesional sanitario en materia de prevención y screening son los temas principales encontrados. Discusión: Si bien hay consenso entre la evidencia recopilada en la mayoría de los temas hallados, se ha advertido cierto conflicto en cuanto a la eficacia del uso de herramientas informatizadas, y de la utilidad de la formación de los profesionales. Conclusión: la enfermería tiene un papel primordial en la lucha contra el consumo de drogas entre la población adolescente. Si bien es verdad que cuenta con multitud de herramientas, se necesita de más evidencia para poder determinar la validez y eficacia de las mismas.
Introduction: drug use is a serious public health problem that is widespread among the adolescent population. In addition, it presents a multitude of risk factors and negative consequences for the individual, physically, psychologically and socially. Objectives: to know the current situation, as well as the main nursing interventions that are currently being carried out to solve this problem. Methodology: a bibliographic search was carried out in the CINAHL and PUBMED databases, selecting articles with full text available, in English or Spanish and no more than 10 years old. Results: 161 articles were found, of which 28 were finally included. The importance of school nurses and their enormous potential, motivational interviewing, individualized and sustained interventions, a comprehensive approach to the problem and the need to train health professionals in prevention and screening were the main themes found. Discussion: although there is consensus among the evidence collected on most of the topics found, some conflict has been noted regarding the effectiveness of the use of computerized tools and the usefulness of trainingfor professionals. Conclusion: nursing has an essential role in the fight against drug use among the adolescent population. Although it is true that a multitude of tools are available, more evidence is needed to determine their validity and efficacy.
