Abstract
La información publicada en los “papeles de Panamá”, permite reconstruir la estructura espacial de las sociedades financieras de Sudamérica. Para ello se ha analizado la localización de 155.000 conexiones entre personas y sociedades, y su red de relaciones con otras regiones del mundo. Esto ha permitido determinar las conexiones financieras internacionales, su grado de interacción y diversificación en el interior de Sudamérica, así como su dimensión exterior. A través de ella se puede reconstruir los movimientos del capital entre distintos territorios y evaluar el papel que juega en la configuración espacial de los flujos financieros ilícitos.El resultado es una cartografía entre los puntos de origen y destino de los fondos depositados en paraísos fiscales. Permite identificar los nodos de conexión que articulan este complejo entramado. Se realiza finalmente un análisis geográfico en diversas escalas que permite establecer la localización urbana de residentes y sociedades con intereses en estos espacios.
The information published in the “Panama papers” allows us to reconstruct the spatial structure of the financial societies of South America. For this, the location of 155,000 connections between people and societies, and its network of relations with other re-gions of the world, has been analyzed. This has made it possible to determine interna-tional financial connections, their degree of interaction and diversification within South America, as well as their external dimension. Through it, the movements of capital be-tween different territories can be reconstructed and the role played in the spatial confi-guration of illicit financial flows can be evaluated.The result is a mapping between the points of origin and destination of the funds depo-sited in tax havens. It allows identifying the connection nodes that articulate this fabric complex. Finally, a geographical analysis is carried out in different scales that allows to establish the urban location of residents and societies with interests in these spaces.
