Abstract
El alzhéimer es un tipo de demencia que afecta a la memoria, al pensamiento y al comportamiento de las personas. Desgraciadamente, no existe una cura o remedio para dicha enfermedad mental, en cambio, hoy en día contamos con terapias basadas en reminiscencia, unas sesiones entre paciente y terapeuta en las que se trabajan los recuerdos para mejorar la calidad de vida durante el inicio del desarrollo de la enfermedad, y así frenar en parte su avance. El problema de este tipo de terapias es que requiere trabajar con información y recuerdos del paciente que no siempre están a nuestro alcance. Por ello, hemos desarrollado un sistema que, además de almacenar los recuerdos y los datos importantes de un paciente, es capaz de generar una historia de vida, una narración de los recuerdos y experiencias de la vida del paciente, que puede ser utilizada para las terapias. forma parte del proyecto CANTOR: Composicion automática de narrativas personales como apoyo a terapia ocupacional basada en reminiscencia (PID2019-108927RB-I00), financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica de Innovación 2017-2020, en colaboración entre académicos en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y la Universidad de La Coruña, que tiene como objetivo una mejora significativa en la eficacia de las terapias. El sistema es una aplicación web que podrá utilizarse tanto desde la propia aplicación como desde cualquier dispositivo que disponga de un navegador web, además es una PWA (Progressive Web App). Una vez desarrollada la aplicación, se han realizado pruebas de prototipo con usuarios y se han analizado los resultados, los cuales son relativamente positivos y prometedores. Alzheimer is a type of dementia that affects a person’s memory, thinking and behavior. Unfortunately, there is no cure or remedy for this mental illness. Instead, today we have reminiscence based therapies, sessions between patient and therapist in which memories are worked on to improve the quality of life during the beginning of the development of the disease, and thus partially slow down its advance. The problem with this type of therapy is that it requires working with information and memories of the patient that are not always within our reach. For this reason, we have developed a system that, in addition to storing the memories and important data of a patient, is capable of generating a life history, a narration of the memories and experiences of the patient’s life, which can be used for therapies. The development of the system is part of a research project called CANTOR, in collaboration between academics at the Complutense University of Madrid and the University of La Coruña, which aims to significantly improve the effectiveness of therapy. The system is a web application that can be used both from the application itself and from any device, as well as from the browser and is a PWA (Progressive Web App). Once the application has been developed, prototype tests have been carried out with users and the results have been analyzed, which are really positive and promising.
