Abstract
El germen de esta tesis es la preocupación sobre la importancia asignada a la cultura en la vida urbana. Partiendo de esta inquietud se presta atención a una cuestión: la ausencia de una gestión coordinada desde las Administraciones de los diferentes aspectos que relacionan cultura y ciudad. Esta cuestión será el porqué, el núcleo articulador del trabajo de investigación sobre la que se aplicará una premisa. La gestión institucional de la relación cultura-ciudad podría articular un proyecto, quizá utópico, de ciudad cultural. Un modelo de desarrollo urbano que aspire a superar visiones sectoriales, a partir de los actores, procesos, manifestaciones y valores culturales que conforman la ciudad interpretada como un sujeto cultural. A partir de este planteamiento se ha formulado la pregunta inicial de investigación en la que se cuestiona si la cultura constituye un elemento central en las estrategias institucionales de transformación de las ciudades históricas. Con objeto de resolver el interrogante de partida y tratar de alcanzar los objetivos planteados, la tesis se ha estructurado en dos partes diferenciadas: el marco teórico y el estudio de caso de la ciudad de Salamanca entre 1979 y 2015...
The seed of this thesis is the interest about the importance assigned to culture in urban life. From this concern we are looking into a specific question: the lack of coordinated management from the administrations which link the different aspects of culture and city. This question will become the ground, the nuclear aspect of the research work to which we will apply the premise of the institutional management of the relationship between culture and city. This relationship may articulate a project, maybe utopic, of cultural city. A model of urban development which will aspire to transcend sectorial visions, from the actors, processes, manifestations, and cultural values which conform the city, understood as a cultural subject.From this starting point we have formulated the main research question as follow: is culture a central element in the institutional strategies of transformation of the historical city?Aiming to answer the main question and reach the different goals this thesis has been structured in two differentiate sections: theoretical frame and case study of the city of Salamanca between 1979 and 2015...
