Abstract
Visual perimetry is the ophthalmological test to assess a person’s visual field. This medical exam is essential for detecting diseases which produce some type of visual field loss. It’s important to have techniques for obtaining precise campimetries for the correct diagnosis by the ophthalmology specialist. The goal of this dissertation is to introducing some basic concepts about visual field evaluation with Octopus perimeter, focusing on explaining and comparing two real strategies: the standard bracketing procedure and the faster Tendency-Oriented Perimetry. This comparison will be made with real data from 81 patients using various statistical metrics. Furthermore, it will be proposed and analyzed some new techniques based on spatial statistics and machine learning.
