Abstract
Esta tesis doctoral tiene como objeto principal ofrecer un estudio en profundidad acerca de la imagen que los fascismos europeos han lanzado sobre la profesión periodística y la empresa informativa, a la opinión pública, mediante una herramienta de propaganda tan sofisticada como es el caso del cine. Este estudio responde a un vacío académico existente en materia de trabajos que analicen la figura del periodista en la gran pantalla más allá del cine estadounidense. Ha sido posible gracias a la visualización y al análisis cualitativo de 369 filmes. Las películas que forman el corpus de la investigación representan a los siguientes países: 102 títulos españoles, 83 títulos italianos, 76 alemanes, 26 franceses, 23 títulos de Gran Bretaña y Reino Unido, 13 títulos daneses, 12 películas portuguesas y 11 filmes de nacionalidad sueca. Con menos representación fílmica también están presentes Grecia, Polonia y Austria.La investigación costa de seis partes: de inicio, la introducción presenta el objeto protagonista de estudio para adentrarse a exponer los motivos que llevan a elegir el contexto histórico de los fascismos. Por otro lado, termina el prólogo explicando al lector la delimitación del colectivo estudiado: los periodistas y la empresa informativa en el arte cinematográfico. El primer capítulo abarca los fundamentos de la investigación. A saber: desde la justificación del tema investigado a la hipótesis. La filmografía que forma el corpus de la investigación y la metodología empleada también están presentes en este primer apartado. En el segundo episodio copan el protagonismo aquellas películas europeas producidas durante el cine mudo. Desde 1908 hasta 1929 es el periodo abarcado en 59 páginas. Los países analizados son: Gran Bretaña, Francia, Italia, Alemania, España, Suecia, Dinamarca, Bélgica, Noruega, Checoslovaquia, Unión Soviética y Portugal...

The main purpose of this doctoral thesis is to offer an in-depth study of the image that European fascisms have launched on the journalistic profession and the news business to public opinion by means of such a sophisticated propaganda tool as the cinema. This study responds to an existing academic gap in terms of works that analyse the figure of the journalist beyond American cinema. It has been possible thanks to the viewing and qualitative analysis of 369 films. The films in the research corpus represent the following countries: 102 Spanish films, 83 Italian films, 76 German films, 26 French films, 23 British and UK films, 13 Danish films, 12 Portuguese films and 11 Swedish films. Greece, Poland, and Austria are also less well represented.The research is divided into six parts: firstly, the introduction presents the main object of study and then goes on to explain the reasons for choosing the historical context of fascism. The prologue ends by explaining to the reader the delimitation of the group under study: journalists and the informative enterprise in the art of cinema. The first chapter covers the foundations of the research. Namely: from the justification of the research topic to the hypothesis. The filmography that forms the corpus of the research and the methodology employed are also present in this first section. In the second episode, European films produced during the silent era take centre stage. From 19081929 is the period covered in 59 pages. The countries analysed are: Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union and Portugal...
