Abstract
El núcleo de nuestra investigación es, en sentido estricto, el del problema de la hegemonía en el mundo andino. El planteamiento que hemos escogido para abordar dicho problema teórico-político no ha consistido en el análisis de dicha categoría desde un punto de vista estrictamente filológico ni hemos optado por el trazado de un cuadro de modulaciones, usos y potencialidades de la noción de hegemonía, sino que hemos trazar un contorno de lo político —entendido como equivalente a los distintos esfuerzos históricos por construir relaciones de hegemonía— en dos países fuertemente marcados por la herencia colonial hispánica: Bolivia y Perú. Por tal razón esta investigación no sólo se cuestiona por la historia y la política en las naciones mencionadas, sino que lo hace desplegando, como columna vertebral del relato, un diálogo crítico con los abordajes históricos y las propuestas políticas que se desprenden de la producción intelectual de dos de los marxistas latinoamericanos más relevantes del siglo XX: el peruano José Carlos Mariátegui y el boliviano René Zavaleta Mercado...

The core of our research is, strictly speaking, the issue of hegemony in the Andean world. The approach we have chosen to address this theoretical-political problem is not based on the analysis of this category from a firmly philological point of view nor have we chosen to draw a frame of modulations, uses and potentialities of the notion of hegemony, but we have drawn a political contour — understood as equivalent to the different historical efforts to build hegemony relations — in two countries strongly marked by the Hispanic colonial heritage: Bolivia and Peru. Therefore, our research is not only focused on the history and politics in those nations, but it does so by deploying, as the backbone of the narration, a critical dialogue with the historical approaches and political proposals that emerge from the intellectual production of two of the most important Latin American Marxists of the twentieth century: the Peruvian José Carlos Mariátegui and the Bolivian René Zavaleta Mercado...
