Abstract
Como parte de la cultura material del patrimonio científico en nuestro país, las colecciones con modelos tridimensionales de cera no pueden comprenderse únicamente desde el punto de vista del objeto. Para proponer unas pautas y metodologías orientadas a la conservación-restauración de estas herramientas didácticas realizadas con pastas de cera durante los siglos XVIII y XIX, es necesario contextualizarlas en su faceta histórica, sociológica, técnica, científica, pedagógica, etc. La pluralidad de temas en esta investigación, enmarcada en el Proyecto de Investigación del Plan Nacional: La ceroplástica en Veterinaria: documentación, caracterización de materiales y métodos de conservación y restauración en la colección Complutense (Ref.: HAR2013-42460-P), se debe a que las piezas de cera que se han conservado en el Museo Veterinario Complutense han sido testigos y participantes de la transformación de la historia de la ciencia...

As part of the culture of the material history of the Spanish scientific heritage, collections with three-dimensional wax models cannot be understood solely from their materiality. To propose guidelines and methodologies oriented to the conservation-restoration of these didactic tools made with wax pastes during the 18th and 19th centuries, it is necessary to contextualize them in their historical, sociological, technical, scientific, pedagogical facets. The plurality of topics in this research, framed in the Research Project of the National Plan: “The ceroplastic in Veterinary: documentation, characterization of materials and methods of conservation and restoration in the Complutense collection” (Ref.: HAR2013-42460-P), is because the wax artifacts that have been preserved in the Complutense Veterinary Museum have been witnesses and participants of the transformation of the history of science...
