Abstract
Aunque el acto cotidiano de ayudar al otro aparezca como lo más natural, es de hecho un gesto social, diverso según las sociedades e históricamente fechado en su especificidad. Aquí se le interroga en rigurosos términos sociológicos, los que incluyen de manera novedosa la realización de entrevistas y consulta de fuentes diversas, inscribiéndose el resultado en una compleja reflexión sobre los sentimientos morales, el individualismo y la modernidad.
