El presente trabajo pretende aportar un enfoque holístico sobre la relevancia de los tribunales penales internacionales y sobre cómo ha desembocado su trayectoria histórica en la Corte Penal Internacional, en aras de la defensa del Derecho Internacional Humanitario directamente, y del Derecho Internacional de los Derechos Humanos indirectamente. Como rasgo distintivo transversal, se ha tomado a la víctima en el plano procesal, por entender que constituye el epicentro de la tensión existente entre los deseos de preservar la paz y seguridad internacional de un lado, con la tutela judicial efectiva por otro, todo ello en relación con la defensa por parte de la comunidad internacional de unos bienes jurídicos que se reputan como los más importantes...
